Selection for Competition in China

Canada Sports Culture Industry Group & WLF Canada will be sponsoring 7 athletes to compete in semi-professional competition at the next WLF: Canada vs China event on May 25th in Zhengzhou City, Henan, China. With 10 divisions in the qualifiers, this means that not every athlete who wins their qualifying division will be selected for competition in China – only those who are best suited for match ups against the available WLF China athletes.

How selection for the final 7 Canadian athletes will take place:

  • Video of the athlete’s performance will be sent to WLF China for review;
  • Based on the athlete’s performance, WLF China will suggest an opponent;
    • Athletes & their coach have the right to refuse a proposed opponent; and
  • When an athlete agrees to an opponent, they will be required to sign a contract committing themselves to competition in China on May 25th.

$1000 Athletic Sponsorship

The Canada Sports Culture Industry Group is generously providing a $1,000 CAD sponsorship to all athletes who compete in May 25th’s Canada vs China event in Henan. The athletic sponsorship is to help ensure that athletes have access to all the support (strength and conditioning, massage, nutrition) they need in order to be successful in competition internationally.
